Both VIP admission and general admission tickets include all tastings of the various food and beer available at the event. VIP ticket holders will also receive discounts on festival T-shirts.
The festival, organized by the Omaha Jaycees in cooperation with the Old Mattress Factory, will feature a food competition culminating in prizes and a trip to the World Food Championships in Las Vegas for the best bacon-themed dish. Patrons will receive samples of delicious dishes alongside tastings of hand-crafted beer from various breweries.
The 2017 festival benefits United Cerebral Palsy of Nebraska, an Omaha-based non-profit organization that educates, advocates and provides support services through an affiliate network to ensure a life without limits for people of all ages with a broad range of disabilities and their families. Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. It is the most common motor disability in childhood.
Last year, the festival raised $7,500 for Wounded Warrior Family Support. The Omaha Beer and Bacon Festival also previously benefited the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha with the Jaycees donating $27,000 to the organization over three years.
