Is that the faint smell of sizzling bacon and a hoppy IPA we smell? The Fifth Annual Omaha Beer and Bacon Festival will continue a tradition of tasty bites and refreshing brews for a good cause, this year United Cerebral Palsy of Nebraska, as the festival returns to the The Old Mattress Factory Omaha on Saturday, July 29. Gates open for VIPs at 5 p.m. and general admission starts at 6.

This is a 21+ event. People under the age of 21 are not permitted at the Omaha Beer and Bacon Festival.

A limited number of VIP tickets are on sale at http://bit.ly/2017BBFTicketsfor $40 with general admission tickets for $25. Each VIP ticket includes admission at 5 p.m., which is one hour earlier than general admission, and a full-sized 2017 Beer and Bacon Festival mug. General admission tickets are good for entry at 6 p.m., one hour after the gates open for VIPs, and a tasting glass.

Both VIP admission and general admission tickets include all tastings of the various food and beer available at the event. VIP ticket holders will also receive discounts on festival T-shirts.

The festival, organized by the Omaha Jaycees in cooperation with the Old Mattress Factory, will feature a food competition culminating in prizes and a trip to the World Food Championships in Las Vegas for the best bacon-themed dish. Patrons will receive samples of delicious dishes alongside tastings of hand-crafted beer from various breweries.

The 2017 festival benefits United Cerebral Palsy of Nebraska, an Omaha-based non-profit organization that educates, advocates and provides support services through an affiliate network to ensure a life without limits for people of all ages with a broad range of disabilities and their families. Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. It is the most common motor disability in childhood.

Last year, the festival raised $7,500 for Wounded Warrior Family Support. The Omaha Beer and Bacon Festival also previously benefited the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha with the Jaycees donating $27,000 to the organization over three years.
